Церковь основана на пейотизме [Peyotism, Peyote Church, Peyote Cult, Peyote Religion] - культе кактуса пейоте, распространенного в местах проживания многих индейских племен запада США и имеющего наркотическое действие. Имеет около 225 тыс. последователей. Подразделяется на три фракции: навахская [ Navajo], ютская [ Ute] и кроу-виннебагская [ Crow; Winnebago]; имеет "очаги" [Fire Places] в Аризоне, Калифорнии, Неваде, Нью-Мексико, Оклахоме, Северной Дакоте и Южной Дакоте и других штатах. Вероучение - смесь индейских религий и христианства; службы проводятся в субботу вечером, когда кругом особенно много соблазнов.
